There's even a gui you can download to control it. You can pick them up for around $100 & you'll never look back. Recently I was home on holiday vacation & bored, so I experimented with mic-ing all kinds of amps, cabinets, using the spark amp, etc.everything you can imagine & at the end of the day nothing got me a guitar sound as quickly & easily as the Johnson j-station. I've actually done complete albums using the Johnson J station for guitar & bass sounds.

In order to do that, I'll also use a bus for reverb, compression & eq in the Pro Channel to tweak the sounds. My Approach is based on the idea of getting as close to the sound that I want externally so I don't tax the processors too-much. Then all I have to do is open Cakewalk and tell it where to go to find the signal. When I'm going to record I don't even open Cakewalk until after I launch the fast-track ultra's virtual mixer & get my gtr/bass sound. I like it because it has a virtual mixer. You can pick up the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra used pretty cheap. I apologize for the scattered nature of this post, any help is much appreciated Oh and also I have downloaded ASIO for all, and I can see it but am unable to click on it as it is greyed out for some reason.Īlso would be great if I could use the audio interface to plug some studio monitors into as I am currently getting all of my sound from my headphone jack on the laptop. I am however, able to switch to the zoom in the ASIO settings but the recording quality is ass. I have a zoom R8 and I tried to use the audio interface feature and it doesn't really show up in cakewalk in the device area of preferences. I would have to plug the interface into that as I only have one usb port on my laptop. I am using a USB hub which has its own power source. I am using HP Spectre 360 laptop with USB C and standard usb. I would like to use this for mainly vocal tracks with a mic, and guitar and bass tracks with standard instrument cable.Īt least 2 mic inputs would be great so I could have 2 mics for drums/percussion etc.

I almost no experience with this and will not frown upon being talked to like a 4 year old. I am looking for suggestions for a good audio interface.
